Oregon Chapter Supporting Science’s Next Generation
ARCS Foundation Oregon Scholar Awards give our universities a critical competitive edge in recruiting and retaining the most gifted graduate students. ARCS Scholar Awards are catalysts to building scientific and technological capacity, the primary engine of economic and social growth.
At a Glance
• Incorporated in 2004, ARCS Oregon is one of 15 ARCS chapters nationwide
• To date, 301 Oregon scholars have received awards totaling $5 million
• Year after year our growth has allowed us to fund more scholars
• In 2020-2021, 74 scholars received awards in excess of $444,000
• We support 42 approved programs and departments at OHSU, OSU and UO
• ARCS Oregon received the “Outstanding Philanthropic Foundation” award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Oregon/SW Washington
• The chapter was inducted into the Milton Harris Society, Oregon State University Foundation’s premier recognition for lifetime giving to OSU
that has exceeded $1 million
• An ARCS Oregon member gave the largest bequest gift of $1.5 million
• ARCS Oregon’s website www.oregon.arcsfoundation.org features content about our impact, including scholar videos, cutting-edge programs, up-to-date information, and the option to donate to the Oregon chapter
Nationwide, ARCS Foundation, Inc. partners with 50 premier universities to provide financial awards to academically outstanding U.S. citizens pursuing STEM degrees.
