The group’s third focus area is a “new fluorine-free coating designed to offer the same superior protection against moisture without the use of PFAS, which are expected to be restricted in upcoming EU regulations due to health and environmental concerns,” Cooper explains.
Cooper is fluent in Danish. “I speak it every day,” she says.
“The ARCS funds made possible my visits to Denmark during my PhD. It is safe to say that my life would be very different without
those funds, and I will always be very grateful to ARCS for giving me the flexibility to
take on new international collaborations which ultimately resulted in me moving to Denmark, learning Danish, working at the Danish Technological Institute and meeting my partner,” Cooper says.
