COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE
VPs Communications: Lara Cunningham & Meri Taylor
Committee Members: Aletha Anderson, Jamie Anderson, Kris Anderson, Julie Branford, Alexa Cunningham. Joan Foley, Caron Ogg,
Tracy Vicario, Leslie Workman
In addition to branding all ARCS Oregon communications collateral, the Communications Committee works to enhance member and community knowledge about ARCS through its publications, website, and video productions.
Virtual ASE (ANNUAL SCHOLAR EVENT): The Communications Committee oversaw all collateral material for the Virtual ASE by producing the save-the-date card, the invitation, the ASE program, and the annual report, along with various thank you cards. This year the Einstein theme was once again refreshed with our graphic designer partner for an effective visual message to reinforce the theme of ASE.
Annual Report: We created our eighth Annual Report outlining the accomplishments of the Oregon Chapter. It was distributed to members and donors at the Virtual ASE, to new members, and included in the development packet.
Video: A new video and scholar vignettes were produced and edited that highlighted the scholar as a whole person - their lab and personal interests.
Email Communications: Communications are critical to keeping our members, scholars and university partners informed of ARCS news. The committee members continue to distribute Board Briefs, program reminders, scholar and member events, and scholar dissertations. We continue using the amazing phrase--Science is the Solution: our impact must continue. – in our communication materials.
Social Media: Extending our connections with scholars through LinkedIn was again a focus of the committee this year. We are currently connected with scholars, university faculty, and individuals interested in the research of the scholars. Stories that have been traditionally member-focused have also been shared on social media this year, with extremely favorable reactions and following from our scholars, members, and others outside the ARCS Oregon circle.
Website: The committee engaged new members by conducting and participating in new member orientations and Wine, Women and the Web sessions, a fun, interactive way to educate members on what is accessible via the ARCS Oregon website.
The committee members remain committed to keeping our members informed on Chapter activities and important ARCS-related news.
