Rick opened the meeting with a traditional prayer. Later in the meeting, Ana Cuddington of Scottsdale Community College led the group in a formal land acknowledgement for our presence on Salt River Pima land and of the importance of place when we gather. Following Rick’s prayer, everyone introduced themselves.
Bobby welcomed everyone and spoke about the value of partnership. He gave a brief history of the Johnson Scholarship Foundation, noting there has always been a theme of giving back and looking to partner with people. He said he hopes everyone will leave encouraged as they head back to work with their students.
