END NOTES
Angelique Albert
As was announced at the Grant Program Committee meeting in Chicago, Angelique was named one of the 2023 “Power and Influence Top 50” by the NonProfit Times. She and the other honorees were invited to the organization’s Power & Influence Top 50 Gala held in September in Washington, D.C., at the National Press Club. Congratulations to Angelique!
December meetings
Grant Program Committee meeting and Board Retreat will be held at The Breakers on Palm Beach. As you already know, this is a highly sought after hotel. We have a block of rooms on hold, but the FINAL names must be confirmed by November 1st. Please complete the attached reservations form a.s.a.p. and send to Sharon.
Board and Consultant interviews
As part of our preparations for our December Board Retreat, we’ve asked our new Board Consultant, Lowell Weiss, to conduct confidential 60-minute interviews with each Board member and Consultant. He will be conducting these interviews prior to November 18. The Retreat Planning Committee asked that the CEO’s Critical Review of Our Scope be included in this Monthly Report for reading prior to the interviews (see pages 2-4). We encourage you to sign up for a slot that fits your schedule as soon as possible, using the following Calendly link: https://calendly.com/ cascadephilanthropy/jsf-interviews-with-lowell-weiss. If you have any questions, you can reach Lowell at lweiss@ cascadephilanthropy.org.
John Glover
On October 10th JSF terminated the consulting agreement with John Glover. After a five-day site visit tour with Rick Williams in October, it became apparent that John was not the right fit for the Foundation. The engagement ended professionally, and we wish John well. We have reopened the search for the next Indigenous Consultant.
