CORE PROGRAMS

• State University System of Florida
Another enjoyable and productive annual meeting was held in Tampa on June 2nd. Watch for the report in the July Monthly Report.
INDIGENOUS PEOPLES PROGRAMS
• Distributions as of June 20, 2023 – $ 623,650
• Convening
Our next Convening will be in Spokane, Washington on Wednesday, October 18th at the Convention Center. This Convening will feature alumni from the Gonzaga University MBA-AIE program. This is being held in conjunction with the American Indian Science and Engineering Society’s huge conference. (They are expecting 3,000 participants!). We will have a block of rooms at The Davenport Grand Hotel directly across the street from the Convention Center.
• Dalhousie University
The endowment to assist Indigenous and Black Nova Scotians with education in the health professions continues to support students at Dalhousie University. (See report attached.)
• Entrepreneurship Scholarships
Applications are in for the 2023/2024 scholarships. Next week the Indigenous Programing Committee will be meeting to review these and make decisions on the awards for each school.
DISCRETIONARY PROGRAMS

• Bender Leadership Academy
Bobby, King and Lady visited this organization in Pennsylvania that helps young people with disabilities transition into jobs. (See report attached.)
• Clarke Schools for Hearing and Speech
Bobby, Lady and Sharon participated in a virtual conference with representatives from Clarke Schools. (See report attached.)
• Dalhousie University
Dalhousie also reported on the students who received scholarships from the endowment for students with disabilities. (See report attached.)
• Elevation Scholars
Bea and Lady represented the Foundation at Elevation Scholars’ 10th annual awards celebration. (See report attached.)
• Eye to Eye
Eye to Eye shared the wonderful news that they received a generous grant from MacKenzie Scott. See their press release at:
