oys Hope Girls Hope’s strategic plan is in motion to triple its reach by 2035. With economic and opportunity gaps wider after a global pandemic, the need for Boys Hope Girls Hope is
greater than ever. That’s why in 2021, Boys Hope Girls Hope enlisted Bellwether Education Partners, a national nonprofit focused on dramatically changing education and life outcomes for underserved children, to help develop, stress-test, and refine its strategic plan, focusing especially on growth.
The plan is driven by comprehensive modeling and mapping growth projections for numbers served and employs two high-impact strategies:
• Aligning core programming for consistent scholar experiences and outcomes, and
• Scaling capacity to serve more scholars.
Boys Hope Girls Hope will grow its Academy pathway across the Network by employing an age cohort model, carefully ramping up to serve approximately 15 scholars per grade level. This approach will elevate impact while maintaining the high-quality programming and

comprehensive, long-term support that is Boys Hope Girls Hope’s signature and that scholars and their families seek out. Already, there are promising results of this plan coming to life through the launch and expansion of the Academy pathway in multiple cities.
ACADEMY EXPANSION
The expansion of the Academy pathway, a key lever to overall growth, is underway:
• The Cincinnati affiliate launched an Academy for girls
in January 2023 and a Academy for boys in January 2024, which now serve a combined total of 20 scholars.
• Baltimore opened an Academy in June 2023 with five scholars and has increased its capacity to serve 16 scholars by the start of 2024.
• The Pittsburgh affiliate is actively planning with the goal to launch their Academy in the latter half of 2024.
• Guatemala recently opened an expansion of their educational center, which will allow them to expand their cohorts over time from 15 to 25 scholars at each grade level.
• New York, Mexico, Northeastern Ohio, St. Louis, Colorado, and Arizona are implementing plans to increase the number of scholars in their Academies.
