MOUNT ALLISON UNIVERSITY REPORT (3)
| Celebrating Support
We are pleased to promote our partnership with the JSF in various ways, most recently in the fall 2023 edition of the Record, the University’s magazine for alumni and friends, and in the 2022-23 Meighen Centre & Supporting Student Health and Wellness newsletter. The newsletter in particular was an opportunity to share the story of the program and share reflections from participants. Storytelling about the GSO Program, both through communications pieces and word of mouth among students, has led to eager interest for the international learning experiences these field schools provide.
| Lasting Impact
The GSO was a three-year program funded through the federal government, and 2024 is the last year of this program. To date, no future government funding has been announced. Regardless of the future of public funding for international education, Mount Allison through this process and thanks to the JSF’s leadership has overcome perceptions (and too often realities) that international learning experiences are out of reach for students with disabilities. Thanks to you we have had a tremendous impact on students. We have developed strong relationships with international partners and remain committed to supporting future faculty-led field courses and equal opportunities for all students to participate.
Thank you for your incredible philanthropic leadership and belief in the value of education.
