In reflecting on their 2023 achievements, wrote:
“In 2023, more than 15 years of research, interviews, and experience came to fruition in the launch of Catalytic Leadership in Philanthropy (CLIP). This next-level philanthropic practice empowers lean, place-based foundations to unleash their full potential to spark transformative change on issues prioritized by local communities. At our Annual Conference in Baltimore, long-time CLIP advocate and partner, the Blackstone Ranch Institute, announced a momentum-building leadership investment in CLIP which has since inspired other members to support this important work. Thanks to investments by Blackstone Ranch, a significant multi-year investment by the Johnson Scholarship Foundation, and support from other members, Exponent is excited to expand CLIP’s reach, influence, and impact in 2024.”

Mike Miller’s mother
In response to Jane Miller’s death, the Foundation sent flowers to Mike and his family and made a donation to Sakura House in Ontario. Mike had requested this Hospice organization as the beneficiary of the JSF donation.

Mileage allowance for 2024
The US federal government has published that the standard mileage rate for 2024 will increase to $0.67. The JSF expense report form is attached here. It (and the one including Canadian Dollar conversions) are also available in Diligent Boards in the Resource Center under Current Forms.
March meetings
Attention now turns to our Spring Semi-annual meetings on March 17th, 18th and 19th in Gainesville, Florida. Attached is the master schedule and the reservations sheet that we need in order to make all the necessary arrangements with the hotel. The hotel is requiring the guest room names by February 13th.
