10. Communications and social media
A Marketing and Communications Report had been circulated. Hannah shared that the new
Communications Plan Goal (“To use JSF’s communications platforms to support and showcase
the work of our grantees, sustain strong partnerships, and discover potential new partners whose
work aligns with JSF’s Mission”) had been approved at the September 2024 meeting. She has been
working on the next steps in researching what we know, what we have done and what are best
practices.
Hannah had created and distributed a spreadsheet for grantees to submit newsworthy items. The
goal was to make it easy for the grantees. It didn’t work as well as hoped, so she is going back to
being intentional about reaching out to selected grantees throughout the year. She pointed out
the need to keep what JSF publishes geared to stories related to what JSF does and funds as well
as relevant to current events.
Accomplishments since last September include monthly Newsletters with grantee news, a full
update of the website to reflect the newly adopted Mission Statement as well as the Strategy and
Vision, and the on-going work to create the 2024 Annual Report for distribution in early 2025.
11. Approval for distribution adjustments as needed
Bobby reminded the Committee of Tommy’s earlier comments that the distribution amounts will
be finalized before the end of the year.
The Committee authorized the CEO to manage year end funding of approved grants to meet the
2024 grant distribution requirement.

Spring 2025 – Sunday, March 16th – Orlando, Florida
Fall 2025 – Sunday, September 7th – Anchorage, Alaska
Winter 2025 – Saturday, December 6th – Palm Beach, Florida
