Director Grants
Director grant requests and plans for matching grants were due in the office on February 16th. If you have grants you would like to have approved at the March meeting, please get them to Sharon by February 23rd.
Diligent Boards Resource Center
Just a reminder that the Resource Center is populated with information. The book “Current Forms” contains the 2023 expense report form as well as the Director discretionary grant forms. The book “Board Service” contains Director and staff contact information as well as current committee members.
Diligent Boards updates for older Apple devices
If you are using Diligent Boards on an older Apple device, please note the following announcement from Diligent Boards:
Diligent Boards for iOS will no longer support updates on devices running on the legacy iOS 14 operating system. Directors and executives will have continued access to Diligent Boards to run key functions on devices running on iOS 14, but will not be able to download future updates to Diligent Boards. This will result in end users being unable to take advantage of new features and security enhancements.
If this pertains to you, please update your device to the latest version of iOS. To find out which version your device is running, please go to System Settings and click on General. Under the About tab, look for your OS version. To contact Dilgent support, call (866) 262-7326 or email support@diligent.com.
Florida Philanthropic Network Summit
Bobby, Lady and Sharon attended the annual FPN Statewide Summit on Philanthropy in Orlando in early February. JSF sponsored the Welcome Reception the first evening, and afterward Bobby attended the CEO and Board Dinner. This year’s theme was Making Waves: Florida Philanthropy in Action. The 3-day Summit returned to pre- pandemic levels of participation with more than 250 professionals in attendance. Among the more interesting sessions were ones on trust-based philanthropy, the relationship between CFOs and Grant Managers, and the American Dream Prosperity Index as a transformational tool for Florida communities.
Bob Lorence
Judy Lorence sent a thank you note for the flowers the Foundation sent her following Bob’s passing. She included the link to his obituary:

Morton Corwin
Bill’s father, Morton Corwin, passed away on January 13th. Flowers were sent on behalf of JSF and a donation made to The Academy at Charlemont. Our thoughts are with Bill’s family.
