On behalf of FIU, we thank you for your ongoing support of our great university and welcome your foundation into our Trailblazer Society. Members of the Trailblazer Society have made commitments of $5 million or more to the university. The Trailblazer Society honors those who grasp our vision and mission then blaze forward towards achieving our goals. Your foundation’s commitment and tenacity are what drives you to take charge and create lasting impact for our students.
You join a generous community of like-minded patrons who expand this institution’s capacity for excellence every day. As we celebrate our 50th anniversary as an institution, we reflect on how much we have all achieved by serving our students and the diverse populations of South Florida. Because of you, we have grown into a top-tier research university and helped facilitate student success every day.
In honor of your foundation’s dedication and commitment, we are delighted to confirm that your foundation will be included at the Trailblazer Society level on our updated Wall of Gratitude in the MARC Building Lobby which acknowledges FIU’s top supporters.
Congratulations and we look forward to honoring your continued support on Saturday, May 20th as we unveil the updated Wall of Gratitude in the MARC building and celebrate the closing of our Next Horizon Campaign in the Ocean Bank Convocation Center.
Your foundation’s recognition name will appear on the Wall of Gratitude as:
Johnson Scholarship Foundation, Inc.
Thank you again for your continued support of our FIU!

INDIGENOUS PEOPLES PROGRAMS
• Distributions as of May 20, 2023 – $ 623,650
• Indigenous Convening
Our next Convening will be in Spokane, Washington on Wednesday, October 18th at the Convention Center. This Convening will feature alumni from the Gonzaga University MBA-AIE program. (See Sherry’s update attached.)
This is being held in conjunction with the American Indian Science and Engineering Society’s huge conference. (They are expecting 3,000 participants!). AISES has graciously offered JSF a portion of their block of rooms at The Davenport Grand Hotel directly across the street from the Convention Center. However, because of the number of rooms AISES will be needing, they need to know how many rooms we wish to hold by June 1st. PLEASE ADVISE SHARON BY MAY 30th WHETHER OR NOT YOU WISH A ROOM IN SPOKANE FOR THE INDIGENOUS CONVENING FOR TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY NIGHTS, OCTOBER 17th AND 18th.
• Institute of American Indian Arts
The balance of the grant for the scholarship endowment has been funded.
