For God and Country
For God and for Country on earth we live,
hence, what we have, we are ready to give.
All our best talents, our fortunes and lives,
and all that we are here, and in us lies.
Our duty is to know, love and serve God,
and to defend our Country on this sod.
Even to shed our life’s blood, if need be,
for God and our Country’s liberty.
God and our Country truly keep us all,
hence, we are ready to answer their call.
And when we do answer, we do our best,
until we are called to heaven to rest.
