CORE VALUES
Openness
We encourage a culture of openness – meaning, we encourage open discussions and freedom of expression. Our decisions are discussed and rationalized (as far as possible) with our staff, and explained clearly. We encourage the sharing of knowledge with each other – including in areas of learning and development, and not just sharing ‘company knowledge’. We are inquisitive and receptive to ideas. We aim to always provide and receive feedback. We confront ethical problems effectively and quickly.
Clarity
We believe that clarity is important to this culture of openness. Our communications, our decisions need to be clear and meaningful. Our people need to be clear and have a meaningful understanding of expectations, their jobs and tasks, their KPIs, remuneration and benefits, company structure, rules and guidelines, at-workplace behavior and conduct, and to clarity regarding management and leadership decisions regarding all aspects of the business.
Fairness
At MCN, fairness is concerned with actions, processes, and consequences, that are morally right, honorable, and equitable. In essence, the core value of fairness establishes moral standards for decisions that affect others. Fair decisions are made in an appropriate manner based on appropriate criteria.
Fairness requires that
• the process of decision making reveals a conscious concern with reaching a fair, just, and equitable result. Decisions should be made, and should appear to be made, carefully, honestly, and objectively.
• Treat all people equitably based on their merits and abilities and handle all essentially similar situations similarly and with consistency.
• Make all decisions on appropriate criteria, without undue favoritism or improper prejudice.
Accessibility
Employees need to feel that they have open access to leadership, to a fair and open culture in which we conduct business, to information that is relevant to them in the workplace, and to redress. Accessibility also includes providing access to the best available tools, technologies, hardware and software and data and insight so that our employees are empowered and enabled to deliver the best possible outcomes for our clients’ business needs.
