Quantum dots are encapsulated in a non-dissolving polymer called
polymethilmethacrylate. In some embodiment, the NIR emitting
inorganic dye is semiconducting nanocrystals of copper or silver, which
may be incapsulated in a poly methyl methacrylate (PMMA)
microparticle for embedding in the microneedles. The tip never
dissolves and remains in your body forever.

                                                        Figure 75.

The agents to be delivered are located in the tip of the microneedle
which remains in the body after the needle dissolves sufficiently for the
flexible base to fall off. With these materials you will be modified to
become a human antenna. Here is what it is made of: inorganics
materials, semiconductors, DNA modifiers, dyes, actives agents.
Exemplary active agents can be proteins or peptides, sugars
polysaccharides, lipids, nucleotide molecules or combinations thereof,
or synthetic organic and inorganic compounds.
Optionally the microneedle may contain other materials including
metals, ceramics, semiconductors, organics, polymers, and composites.
Preferred materials of construction include pharmaceutical grade
stainless steel, gold, titanium, nickel, iron, tin, chromium, copper,
alloys of these or other metals, silicon, silicon dioxide, and polymers.
Quantum dots as dyes for microneedles can be produced from
inorganic material, generally inorganic conductive o semiconductive
including materials group II-VI, group III-V, group IV-VI, and group
IV semiconductors. Suitable semiconductor materials include, but not
limited to, Si, Ge, Sn, Se, Te, B, C, (including diamond) P, BN, BP,
BAs, A1N, A1P, A1As, A1Sb, GaN, GaP, GaAs, GaSb, ZnO, ZnS,
ZnSe, ZnTe, CdS, CdSe, CdSeZn, CdTe, HgS, HgSe, HgTe, BeS,
BeSe, BeTe, MgS, MgSe, GeS, GeSe, GeTe, SnS, SnSe, SnTe, PbO,
                           PbS, PbSe, PbTe, CuF, CuC1, CuBr, CuI, S13N4, Ge3N4, A12O3, (A1,
GA, IN)2. (S, Se, Te)3, AI2CO and appropriate combinations of two or
more such semiconductors. Here is the result.
