                3.11.5     TAF, METAR, TREND, SPECI


                Before flying, the latest weather forecasts and current weather information are

                gathered. The information is found in:

                     -  TAF

                     -  METAR

                     -  TREND

                     -  SPECI




                TAF - issued every 3 hours for certain airports, typically valid for 9 hours.


                METAR - routine report with current weather, normally issued every half hour

                at minutes 20 and 50.
