My Home

I grew up in an orphanage. This was difficult, I just do not want
to remember many things. When it was time to graduate, I chose
to get a university degree, and also started working as a bar-
tender in a night club. I tried to get myself meaningfully busy
at maximum. Together with my friends we regularly visited the
orphanage to greet our tutors and invent some activities for the
kids. But the more time passed, the fewer were out visits.
During my two years of working in KFC I walked a long career
path and it was at that time that I learnt that the company to-
gether with the KFC Corporate Charity Fund “Opening Horizons”
was implementing a charity education program for the orphans
called “Generation Choice”.
I have been part of this project for one year already. There
were so many interesting things both for the kids and the volun-
teers. One day I thought that it would be great to engage into
the project the kids from the orphanage where I had stayed my-
self. And I suggested this idea at the next volunteers’ meeting.
And I was supported! We were implementing this idea for some
time. And now I have the opportunity to come to the kids famil-
iar to me and to motivate them with my own example to study
something new, to get education, to work, and not to give up
facing the problems that often seem unsolvable.
I often notice how the kids get interested in me as a volun-
teer and the entire project when they hear my story – once I was
walking in their shoes. This helps us to quickly establish the con-
tact full of trust. I believe I am serving them a good example and
this inspires me for further development and growth!
