                                8 On Ya Bike!!

It’s amazing what we can get up to when
we get bored. Me, well I’ve oiled up my
chain and sprockets, pumped my tyres
up and inspired myself to get rid of
my ever expanding waistline and have
got back to cycling. My trusty steed is
12 succeeded in reminding me that I have a
not the quickest of machines but it has

third lung, something I haven’t felt since
my army days. Well, at least it’s given
me the excuse to run daily surf checks
at our local beach which has been a consistent 2-4ft over the last month.
More to the point, the lockdown restrictions has slightly eased to the
point we can get back in the water but there is no way I am donning a
wetsuit until I have got rid of the beer belly and lower the risk of getting
eaten by a Great White Shark which has mistaken me for a Walrus. July
                                           is my target!
14 Anyway, back to this fine publication. The message from the boss for the

month (outside of the Covid-19 crisis) is to use this wonderful platform
for your advertising needs. As you may have seen, we started putting a
few ads in last month and we will continue the trend from now on.

One thing I have noticed over the past few months, is the amazing
variety of colour that we seem to attract from around the world. Last
month and this month has seen an article from Kenya, my old stomping
ground. Also Hawaii, Australia and so many other wonderful places,
each bringing their own unique beauty to our pages. It really is quite a
beautiful magazine when you look closely. All I can say, on behalf of us
all at the SAFFER Ivory Tower, is thank you to all who contribute their
time and articles each month. You’re all diamonds.

20 That’s about it for me this month. Oh yes, do take a look at the second
part of my article on ‘Rifleman William Snow’. It’s all about his life in
WW1. Look after yourselves and please do be careful out there if you
                                           are getting out and about.

                                           Paul,
