8 Lucky Seven For The Seventh Month

Yep, July strikes our seventh issue of SAFFER Worldwide, not really a
standard landmark but certainly a chance to take a quick look over our
shoulders and take in what the team have achieved so far. In short, a
                                           damn good monthly mag.

In never ceases to amaze me where our articles appear from, I think the
12 Vossie, they’re not too far in the future. Regardless, Vossie has done
orient and the North and South Pole is all that remains and knowing

it again with a great spread of reading from around the world. You
know, the big stand out feature every month is the colours it brings to
the pages. The mix of South Africa, Kenya, Australia, Canada, Hawaii,
Florida and everywhere else is such an attractive combination. But I
digress. Needless to say this month is no exception.

On the SAFFER side, not the best July for me so far, I was really looking
forward to the Corona Open WSL surfing competition at Jeffreys Bay.
Unfortunately, the plug was pulled at the last moment due to the Covid
situation. Ah well, can’t be helped. Also, just to add insult to injury, the
14 local surf has disappeared as if God has ironed the ocean. Hmmm, not
                                           impressed, July!

So let’s be positive in what we do have. Very slowly the world is
recovering and trying it’s best to return to some form of normality and a
few of the things we have missed are becoming available once more. For
me, the big one is our music scene. After three months of quiet, here in
the UK we can now have gigs outdoors again with the promise of indoor
gigs returning in the near future. I’m fighting that issue in my other
magazine so I won’t comment too much on that. But I am glad our vibes
                                           are back.

So let’s see what the rest of July and August brings and see if that ol’
lucky number 7 can bear any fruit for us.
20 See you all next month.

                                           Paul,
