LaBria Thompson
LaBria Thompson was born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi
and raised in Marietta, GA. I discovered my passion for
singing when I was just a little girl and started singing
at the age of 11 years old. I was irst diagnosed with
lupus after high school in 2011. I visited several doctors
and they couldn’t igure out why my joints were con-
stantly in pain and my hair was falling out. After seeing
a rheumatologist in Kennesaw, GA, I was then diag-
nosed after being screened and tested for lupus.
Throughout the years I was hospitalized and could
barely get dressed for work in the mornings, my hair
was falling out, and my health was failing.
Being diagnosed with lupus was the turning point of
my life and faith. I became angry, discouraged, and
hopeless, but God didn’t allow me to sink. With the
prayers and support of my loved ones, my church
family at Generation of Hope, and my friends, things
were turning around for me. I began to inspire others through my journey because I chose not to accept
what man said, I believe and stand on Gods word.
I began to pray over my body daily, speak over my life, declare by Gods stripes I am healed,
change my eating habits, and started exercising. Who would have known that God would heal me and so
much more? After ive years of suffering, on March 26th, 2016, I went to my rheumatologist for my
monthly screenings and he came back and told me he couldn’t ind a trace of lupus in my body. Not only
was I healed; I was set free. I didn’t accept what Man said because I knew I served a God that was bigger
than it all!
March 26th made a year of being lupus free, and I haven’t had to take any medication, no emer-
gency room visits, not one lare up, not one ache or pain. That day my life was forever changed and I was
never the same again. I was later ordained as a minister by my pastor Dwight Buckner on January 17,
2017 and I was then signed under an independent record label Milagro Records under Juan Santiago
on January 23rd. I have sung background for stellar award nominee Marjane Parks, sung the national
anthem for the Special Olympics at age 16, did my irst Tyler Perry showcase at age 17, and so much
more, as I wait in expectation for God to move. If he does nothing else he has done more than enough. My
favorite saying is “I don’t care about the fame, I just want my name in the book of LIFE” so if nobody ever
knows my name I’m ok with that because God knows who I am, and he thought I was to die for!! I have
since then won my irst award at the Prayze Factor Awards Season 10 as Contemporary Solo Artist of the
year. I have been nominated for several music awards. I have shared the stage with some greats such as
William Murphy, Darlene Macon, Kierra Kiki Sheard and more!! I released my irst single “How Can I
Smile” on June 3rd 2017. How Can I Smile was written by me, and produced by the great Damion Murrill.
As God continues to stretch me in my walk with him, my main goal is to inspire and encourage the world
one song at a time.
