PARTNERING FOR STUDENT SUCCESS
West Coast University (WCU) Provost Jeb Egbert, EdD, is happy to cite any number of benefits from the school's longtime partnership with ATI Nursing Education. But there is one characteristic of the collaboration that stands out in particular -- a shared sense of success and accountability.
What’s next for your nursing program?
"There is a mutual commitment on both sides to get to better outcomes," he says. "In our partnership, it appears there is a sentiment within ATI that how they perceive their success is directly tied to how we perceive our success. If our students perform
well, it reflects well on them."
The WCU nursing program is dedicated to providing a professional opportunity for adult students wanting to enter the nursing field. With an eye toward constant program and student improvement, the nursing school had, over time, integrated a variety of educational solutions from several companies to bolster its curriculum and aid students. But by 2012, it became apparent that the multi-company, multi-solution approach was not generating the
results the school needed.
"We had been trying to incrementalize our way to NCLEX improvement in a piecemeal manner," Dr. Egbert explains, "so we
were not making improvement at all."
Faced with declining NCLEX pass rates and struggling students, the WCU team made the decision to streamline its approach and to invest in ATI Nursing's Complete Partnership. Complete offered West Coast University access to nearly every resource in the ATI product portfolio -- Pulse, Capstone, Live Review and more -- along with a customized approach to meet its

goals of improving NCLEX first-time pass rates.
"We liked the totality of Complete and the way ATI was able to implement it in a way that respected the fact that our faculty knew our content," says Dr. Egbert . "The approach was not to abandon what we had, but integrate the key elements from ATI
with the knowledge of our faculty. "
