A ten-year partnership has delivered exponential growth for the Mars brands in our categories. A blend of our sales excellence, Mars’ long term brand investment and a joint appetite for innovation has maintained the brand’s leading position in existing categories and enabled it to conquer new ones. We look forward to continuing this growth in 2020 - in particular Mars NPD and the fantastic ice-cream category performance. The latest NPD news Following a seamless launch, supported by a targeted PR and promotional campaign, the new Galaxy and Bounty non-dairy shakes have gone down a treat with consumers. Asda has been supporting activity online and this is translating into sales, which have been extremely positive. In the first three weeks alone, we shipped £50k of stock and ROS is currently ahead of all forecasts. High levels of engagement on social media bodes well for a listing in Morrisons. To meet the evolving needs of sports specialist customers, new protein powder pouches have been launched in the UK, Canada and Australia. We have secured initial orders of over £300k and Tropicana, our biggest UK customer is very pleased with the product taste and initial demand. What about category performance? Ice cream has been our star category in the third quarter. Despite the ice cream market experiencing an overall decline at -6.7%, Mars ice cream has grown at +18.7%, which is a truly amazing result! A massive thank-you to all involved and special recognition to Marcus England who has reported that major mults customers are up 29%! The team is currently busy selling the 2020 range and have already started development work for 2021.
