             What is the Cane Fu?


             The I Cane Fu Program is geared for the mature adult who understands the Benefits of sta-
             ying active but isn’t into the fast past of Zumba or Aerobics or interested in spending hours
             walking on a treadmill or sitting on a stationary bike.


             The I Cane Do Program will teach you how to use a walking cane as a tool for exercise and
             self-defense.  The program also introduces you to different ways of overcoming your limi-
             ting thoughts, thus helping to motivate you to continue to keep working out, which will ena-
             ble you to continue having a great quality of life.


             What I can learn to start practicing Cane Fu?

             In the Level 1 introduces the student to the style’s fundamentals, including an overview of
             the system, safety and training considerations, parts of the cane, and how to work with and
             without a training partner.

             The student will learn three fundamental grips, four stances, five empty-hand basics, ten
             required blocks, twelve striking angles, five methods of punching with the cane, the sin-
             gle-handed jab set, side twirls, front kick, and more.  The student will also learn the introduc-
             tory level of the cane exercise system which includes proper stretching and strength trai-
             ning, which will develop control, power, and speed for cane techniques.  This level presents
             the first three CTs (cane techniques).
