Fthe order Buddhist Chan, Hsu Yun. My
relationship with the Master Airr Phanthip
the Nak Muay Thai, allowed me to learn a
little more about their culture and kindly
invited me to celebrate with them the new

year.

It known as Songkran, which is written
in Thai สงกรานต์, is a word of Sanskrit ori-
gin (Sankrandhi) which means change or
movement. In This context, the meaning
implies to the passing and the moving of the
sun, the moon and the other planets into
one of the zodiacal orbits. And the Grand
Songkran Festival falls in Aries Which In-
dicates the new era of the Thai New Year.

Owing to the ancient Indian belief, the
Grand Songkran Festival is to be the most
Appropriate Thai New Year due to the ti-
ming of the best season Which is Known as
the spring of India Which comes right after
the cold season of winter.

Nak Muay Thai school performed three shows in three different Buddhist temples in the
city of Las Vegas, celebrating the new year. I share with you some of the photos that the
lens of Martial Science Magazine captured for all of you.
