HOW IS THE PRACTICE OF MARTIAL ARTS IN
CUBA?
I come from a country with many needs of all kinds,
but with very tenacious, courageous, but above all
very sacrificed athletes. The conditions for practi-
cing sports and martial arts are very bad. In all my
years of master I could never have a room for prac-
tice, We trained on the concrete floor, no water, no
protective equipment or uniforms. The last classes
that I taught in Cuba were always confronting us
in all kinds with weather and adversities park. But
thanks to this experinces we have developed our
skills and courage in martial arts.
MASTER YOU CURRENTLY HAVE 66 YEARS.
WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO LOOK SO
YOUNG?
At 66 years of my life practicing martial arts has
been a blessing of the Almighty (God) for giving
me the strength of character to face life and the
constant practice of martial arts with their physi-
cal, mental exercises and spiritual. I think my phy-
sical condition is a reflection of my spiritual trai-
ning. The practice of Yoga and Reiki help to our
body, mind and spirit obtain harmonious balance.
Also a good nutrition and proper care of our body
is very important to improve the quality of life.
