REUBEN TRANE: ...a semi-hermetic, direct-drive, low pressure centrifugal chiller...
IRMA STAT: This innovation helped Trane become an air- conditioning industry leader. The simplicity and reliability of centrifugal chiller design became a company tenet.
The investors clap enthusiastically.
INVESTOR: Reuben, you and your father have changed the world. He would be proud.
REUBEN TRANE: Thank you. Why don’t you help yourself to some refreshments and I’ll join you in a moment.
They head off to the reception and Reuben walks over to a fireplace, turning to a portrait hanging above it. It’s James Trane. A small plumbing wrench lays directly below it on a pedestal.
Reuben takes the wrench delicately, and holds it for a moment. We can see the slightly faded words “World’s Best Inventor” written in a child’s scrawl. Reuben carefully puts it back, a bit choked up.
REUBEN TRANE: Couldn’t have done it without you, Father.
He blinks away tears and composes himself. He quickly heads off to join the others. We slowly go back through the window. The sounds of the howling wind crescendo. The snowfall is turning into a blizzard. Snow fills the screen as it becomes a whiteout.
COMPUTER: Climate Warning. Weather intensifying. Commencing escape procedures. Auto-transport initiated.
IRMA STAT: It’s time to get out of here. This storm is getting too dangerous.
COMPUTER: 15 seconds.
