Pasini, in his report, described the “star of La Défense: the Bugatti EB110, surrounded by admirers. The design of the EB110 is clear and clean but is astonishing due to its unconventional proportions. The front section is bulky and expansive in relation to the small rear end. Overall, the car is very compact, although with dimensions between those of the Ferrari F40 and the Lamborghini Diablo. It certainly is a difficult task for a designer to approach the tradition of the sensational, breath-taking Atalante, Atlantic, Stelvio and Aérolithe, reinterpreting them without imitating them.”
By 4:30 pm, the unveiling was over, and the car, driven by Jean-Philippe Vittecoq, with Alain Delon as the passenger, left La Place de la Défense, followed by the fifty pre-war Bugattis, as well as the two Gandini prototypes. The procession of growling, snarling automobiles wound its way through the centre of Paris to La Place de la Concorde. Despite the protection of fifty police motorcycles, there was chaos in the streets.
