                 Future historians will have to assess the current decade in its full scope. It is clear that the first four years have been eventful and consequential for Porsche. The company
entered 2020 with more than 35,000 employees and a solid product line including a new 911 and the EV Taycan. Below in bullet point form are just some of the events and activities that Porsche historians will be assessing and writing about in the future.
2020
t The global Covid-19 pandemic affected business and automobile production across the board. The disruption to global supply chains limited Porsche’s ability to produce enough cars to meet the demand which recovered quickly in the second half of 2020. 2020 Porsche vehicle sales came to 272,162, down only 3% year-over-year.
t The Panamera Turbo set the ‘Executive Vehicle’ record at the Nürburgring, 7.29.81, in August 2020.
t Porsche built the one millionth Cayenne in December 2020.

In late 2020, Porsche released the ‘Porsche Unseen’ design studies and prototypes from 2005 through 2019. There was a book and museum exhibit for these unique vehicles including a ‘street’ 919 and 917 ‘Living Legend’ hypercar design.
2021
In March 2021, Porsche announced a goal for their value chain (including suppliers) to be net carbon-neutral by 2030.
In the spring of 2021, Porsche introduced the Taycan Cross Turismo shooting brake, with the Sport Turismo arriving early in 2022.
In 2021, Porsche showed that combustion engines were still alive and well by introducing a flat-six, 4.0-liter Cayman GTS. Reviews were glowing for the engine and chassis combination.
