                February 2, 1961, but in fact it had been sold to the US. A gap in the history of #2047 followed until it came to light again with Arnold R. Sandubrae, an interior designer from Detroit, Michigan, who owned it in the mid-1960s. In 1968, he sold the car to Manfred Lampe, who also owned another A6GCS (see the
#2080 chapter). Lampe sold the car to enthusiast Jack Reuter from St. Louis who also owned two other A6GCS (see the #2061 and #2079 chapters). #2047 was missing its engine, was in poor condition and had a strange, modified longer front nose, probably the result of a crash. Reuter kept #2047 until June 9,
