#2069 was now light blue and the complete front section had been cut off. It might be possible that it had been converted to V8 power and used as a kind of hot rod. Traces of white paint were seen on some parts of the coachwork, an indication that the front part of the car was also in that color at some time and a swastika had been painted on the back. Magnone needed a forklift to pull the car out and he took it home to Italy. He did nothing to #2069 and in 1991 sold it to Emilio Comelli together with the original engine he had found in Italy. In the late 1990s, Comelli sold it on to German restorer Mario Linke from Cologne. He
took off the rest of the original body and made a new body. In this guise he sold it back to Comelli.
The next owner became Maserati collector Rudolfo Brener from Houston, Texas. Mario Linke offered him the original body of the car but Brener showed no interest. Then collector Lawrence Auriana from Connecticut became the owner of #2069. Since 1993 the car is with its next owner in Illinois who has driven it in various US tourist events like the Colorado Grand.
