Near Maracaibo, a forklift was needed to retrieve #2069.
(Edoardo Magnone)
OPPOSITE: Since 1960, the car was in Venezuela and driven by local drivers in obscure events. At some time, #2069 was abandoned, parked next to the Maracaibo racetrack and forgotten. In 1976, it was found under a pile of other lost cars. (Edoardo Magnone)
Edoardo Magnone (in red jacket) explained to a friend how to drive the remains of #2069. The car was transported to Italy and received new coachwork. The original body was saved and is today in Germany. (Edoardo Magnone)
