Choice of Egypt
2 Strategically Located 4 High Renewable Energy Resources
o Higher than average irradiation: The project site has an above average yearly GHI of about 2300 kWh/m2
o High renewable energy resources: Major component of capital and operating expenditure for the project is renewable energy generation capacity. This benefits from Egypt’s strong renewables resources
o Strategic location at the junction of Europe, Asia and Africa
o Proximity to Suez canal, ensuring ease of export for the plant’s output o Project site offers easy access to seawater for desalination, Red Sea
ammonia refueling station for passing vessels, grid connections(if necessary) and labor.

3 Government Support
o Diversification: The Egyptian government has pursued an energy diversification strategy involving the development of renewable energy technologies to replace carbon emissions. As a result, a large number of renewable projects in the solar, wind and recently in the green hydrogen and ammonia space have come up in Egypt
o The country is investing in clean fuels through public entities and offering support to private players for investment in the sector
• Egypt has a defined Green Hydrogen strategy with active Government support and encouragement.
