cing of priorities before Him. Matthew 6:33 Jesus said, “But seek ye
Some, being more spiritually min- first the kingdom of God, and his
ded and concerned with their chil- righteousness; and all these things
dren’s eternal well being, may be very shall be added unto you.”
diligent in the Christian education of Parenting is one of
their children, strict in rules and disci-
pline, earnest in prayer, and careful in the most important
example, yet one thing may be la- opportunities of
cking. What is the motive? If our
efforts and faithfulness is driven pri- service to the Lord
marily by affection and concern for and must not be
the child’s eternal welfare our point of
aim is still too low. One may be neglected nor
eager to see a profession of faith and pushed aside by
baptism and feel that the job is mostly
done, but will they be with us in the busy schedule or
    hereafter? “Ye must be born
again” (John 3:3-7). If there has been selfish interests.
no regenerating work of grace by the
Holy Spirit there will be no blessed
resurrection, our “hope” is confined to
this life, and the situation is most mi-
    serable (1 Corinthians 15:19). O that
we would be more desirous to see
    “fruits worthy of repentance” (Luke
3:8) and the development and bearing
of “the fruit of the Spirit” (Galatians
    5:16-25)!
           OUR ULTIMATE GOAL
      AND TOP PRIORITY MUST
       BE TO GIVE HONOR AND
                   GLORY TO GOD.
It is then that we can have hope of
    answered prayers. James 4:3 says,
“Ye ask, and receive not, because ye
ask amiss, that ye may consume it
upon your lusts.” It is right and good
that we desire success and happiness
for our children even in this life, ac-
cording to God’s will and His timing.
He “is able to do exceeding abun-
dantly above all that we ask or
        think.” (Ephesians 3:20) In
