Personality Sketch : Mr. Sharad Chikodi
Mr. SHARAD CHIKODI born and
brought up in Karnataka completed his
post-graduation from Karnataka Univer-
sity Dharwad. He joined for Blisc at
Shivaji University Kolhapur.
After his marriage with Smt. Suma, he
shifted his base to Mapusa from
Canacona.
He holds a Master’s Degree in Library
and Information Science from Shivaji
University, Kolhapur, and B.Com and ―As long as you keep

He has actively participated in the implementation of automation of College li-
braries in the State during the year 1990 and attended several Conferences, Semi-
nars, Workshops and Training Courses organized by NIC, NEWGENLIB, Goa —Tamara Taylor
University and NACLIN. He has presented Two Seminar Papers at National
Conferences.
In the earlier years, since no courses were available for the students of Goa in
Library Sciences, he has served as the counselor for the students of the first batch
of BLIS students doing their Library science course from Annamalai University
and Yeshwantrao Chawan Open University for colon classification.
He has served as a member Board of Studies in Library and Information Science
and also been on the recruitment panel of Goa University. He has taught Library
and Information Science at YCMOU and works as a freelance consultant in Au-
tomation of Libraries. He has, with the help of Grants from the Government of
India and Goa State Government, digitized rare collection of Kings Bench Divi-
sion Law Reports – 1866 to 1947, Queens Bench Division Law Reports – 1901
to 1947, Chancery Division Law Reports – 1866 to 14947, Indian Decisions-
1875 to 1900, Appeals and Cases – 1866 to 1947.
He has attended Faculty Improvement Programmes on various subjects like Edu-
cation, Technology, Health, Librarianship and S.S.P.S and Value Education.
Throughout his career he has focused on bringing about effectiveness and speed
