           On April 20, 2017, WCSO was selected by the Oregon DUII Multi-Disciplinary Training Task
           Force as the county DUII Enforcement Agency of the Year for 2016.  The Sheriff’s Office has
           received this award 11 times over the past 14 years.                                                                 SPECIAL TEAM SPOTLIGHT:

           This award is presented to a Sheriff’s Office which has  initiated or accomplished an                                TRAFFIC SAFETY UNIT

           effective DUII project or program in their area of responsibility through enforcement,
           prevention, and community involvement. The agency must also proactively train officers
           in DUII enforcement and drug-impaired driving laws, taking a proactive approach to deter                             WCSO’s own nine person Traffic Safety Unit (TSU) works daily to reduce the number of

           alcohol have dropped in recent years.  There is still much work to be done, especially with                          enforcement deputies dedicated to prevent alcohol and drug impaired people from driving
           the increasing number of impaired people driving under the influence of marijuana, illegal                           and creating hazardous situations.  WCSO continues to stay focused to stop impaired
