Winners for Outstanding Business Impact - Technology
There are two Joint winners.
Winners-1:
The winning team introduced several new technologies to improve the heat rate and part lives of GT.
A few examples are: eSPA, swept airfoil, wheel space swirler etc. These inventions resulted in 9
patents that went into product. The technologies resulted in 94 BTU/KW-hr and 0.28% CC effieciency
improvements with a potential saving of 10MM USD for the CC.
The Winners are HA Technologies team
Winners-2:
The winning team combined predictive and experimental methods in developing the wet
compression system for the gas turbine. The successful test in TS7 showed a ~40MW increase on
7HA.02. The analysis and the tests have retired the risks such as compressor blade erosion, thermal
distortion, compressor surge etc.
