MESSAGE FROM THE SCHOOL CAPTAIN
“Everything that has a beginning has an end.” This quote has reflected the final weeks of my schooling life in MBS. 5 years, 260 weeks, 1825 days. It seems to be a long path to travel as a student, but I am amazed at how time has zoomed in just a blink of an eye. 5 years of being an MBSian was my greatest honour and I am truly proud of it. All these ups and downs that I have gone through in these 5 years remain fresh in my mind and deeply rooted in my heart as these challenges have moulded me into who I am today.
Teamwork - the ability to work together towards a common vision, the ability to direct individual accomplishments towards organizational objectives. Teamwork is the fuel, the energy to allow the common people to achieve results. And this is what I have been taught and practised over the past few years in order to achieve an excellent outcome. Being the school captain of MBSSKL wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be. From the day the school captain of 2019 was officially announced by the principal, the pressure and burden on my shoulder increased tremendously. However, most of the things weren’t handled by me alone. The team that contributed the most to the prefectorial board and which is known as the backbone of the board, is the Executive Committee of the Prefectorial Board which consists of Kuan Jia Hong, Julius Wong Joe Yew, Shaun Lee Waran, Lim Jing Yi, Samuel Lee Jian Hao and Wong Jun Kit,and the Form 5 Prefects- Chung Zuo Ming, Damian Ezekiel Marshall, Evander Yeo Wei Hsiung, Kuhan Kovalan, Muhammad Rafiq Nurhaqim bin Rosman Marvin Lee Lip Yong, Leong Sen Suen and Teng Yew Xiang. All
the sacrifice and contribution from each of them are countless and all have worked hard for the betterment of the board. Other than that, I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all the other prefects for all their great effort towards the management in the Prefectorial Board.
It has been a long five-year journey in MBS, but here we are, ready to graduate. The experience we gained prepared us to march forward with confident steps in each aspect of our life. In certain occasions, the egoistic might manipulate our minds to be an outstanding lone ranger and ignore the spirit of teamwork. Hence, always remind yourself that teamwork makes the dream work and no individual can win the game by himself.
We have worked hard to get to this point, but we didn’t do it all by ourselves. We owe a huge debt of gratitude to our beloved teachers. Dear teachers, thank you for all that you have done for the students. You are the compass that activates the magnets of our curiosity, interest and wisdom. Maria Callas once said “Good teachers make the best of a student’s means; great teachers foresee a student’s ends”. Your dedication and encouragement have helped the students go towards the ideal path as we prepare to undergo tons of torture and challenges in the harsh reality of the outside world. Your patience and tolerance towards our ignorance is appreciated. All of you have gone beyond the call of duty. Once again, thank you teachers, thank you MBS, we acknowledge and appreciate all your effort that has been invested in each and every student.
Once an MBSian, Forever an MBSian. Go Forward MBS!
