Welp, that’s it. Thank you again, UDMB. You changed me forever, and for the better. This band was the experience of a lifetime.
In my life, I’ve loved them ALL. With pride, always.
Matthew Gargano ~~
I have always done band for no other reason than it is fun. I enjoy being at band; I enjoy performing with all the members of the band. This last year I adopted the mindset that no matter what is going on, we can have fun at band. I am so thankful to everyone that gave me the opportunity to be on staff and work to make band a fun environment. There are so many special moments shared together in an ensemble as large as this, and it would be impossible to list everything and everyone that makes band special. Therefore, these thanks are included for every member of the marching band.
If we had shared some jokes or smiles, or you watched me make a complete fool over myself and we had some fun, thanks for contributing to the goofy chaos that we created together. I am beyond thankful to this organization for the opportunity to have so much fun.
Now onto the specifics:
To the Trombones:
Thank you so much for a wonderful season. I’m glad we were able to share it together and I’m glad that I got to know each one of you a little better.
Matt Libby: Thanks for having my back throughout the season. I appreciated being able to count on you during rehearsals when my drill took me far far away from the majority of the trombones or when I am busy during warmups. It was easy knowing that you could handle it. Thanks for being a great half to our Duo.
Emily Helm: I had so much fun being a SLUG with you every game day. It was great to be joking around with you and sharing my salad dressing for your pizza. I’m glad we could share so many laughs through the season and I hope that you had a good season.
Drew Budlong: Thanks for always wanting to help out. That enthusiasm and passion is very admirable. I really hope this season was a good one for you, and I know that you are going to kill it your senior year. Good luck next season!
Shaina Smith: Oh Shaina, it really has been an eventful two seasons hasn’t it? I am honored that you stuck out this one season to see me off. I know this season has had it share of low points and I’m proud that you could push through it every time. It was always so fun trying to make you laugh and I’m so grateful for the fun times we shared together.
Jana Mae: Thank you so much for always trying to promote section togetherness and hangouts. It was nice to have someone in the section again who really tried to stress having some outside of band
