Jacob: Thank you for being someone I always looked forward to seeing in band. Thank you for never taking me too seriously and keeping me laughing. I’ll miss dabbing during band camp and waving at each other across field. Thank you for being the trumpet dad we consistently needed. Thank you for putting this band first before so many other important things and for always being someone I could rely on to help me with anything. I’m so fortunate to have known you these four years and I hope I will know you for so many more.
Ethan: Thank you for being someone who always saw me even when I tried to be invisible. I still think of you when we were freshman and think about how much you tried to get me out of my shell and how much I didn’t buy into it. I appreciate you more than you'll ever know. I love you so much and I can’t thank you enough for always making me feel like I mattered. We are all so fortunate to know someone who is so willing to make anyone and everyone feel so comfortable. I hope you feel as loved as you truly are. People don’t say it enough but you are one of a kind and deserve to feel nothing but adoration for exactly who you are.
Ayanna: Thank you for always supporting me and marching band as much as I hope you have felt the same. Doing band, especially staff as a music major is very difficult and I’m so lucky to have had you right beside me the entire time. No one else will really understand what we have gone through to get to this point but I admire so much the fact that we can understand each other. Thank you for always encouraging me and helping me when I didn’t always know what to do. I respect so much your decision to just be a member this year and I hope it was so fulfilling to you. Thank you so much for doing this with me!
Matt: Thank you so much for being different than me in a lot of ways. You taught me a lot just by being in this band and I hope that you recognize that. Your brain works in amazing ways and we were very lucky to have someone who was so detail oriented. Thank you for coming back to band even though your schedule can be tough with minors and all. Thank you for always wanting to know and understand more of this band and how it works. I learned a lot by just watching you learn. Thank you for always keeping me thinking and for always asking when I wasn’t super clear. It helped me develop my skills as a teacher. Truly, thank you.
Anthony and Jess: Thank you for choosing us and for choosing UD. I hope that this experience was rewarding in a lot of ways. There is so much that you guys do behind the scenes and it doesn’t go unnoticed by me. The money will never equal the amount of blood, sweat and tears you both have put into this job. I also want to validate the fact that coming into this band cold is HARD. Thank you for being so respectful of us always and for taking the time to learn who we were individually and as a band. We didn’t choose you, but thank you so much for choosing us. I hope you feel in a lot of ways the positive change you have put forth in the GA position. We are all so lucky to have you both.
Scott: Thank you for helping me so much.I don’t think there is anyone in this band who has literally helped me do the most basic things for such a long period of time. You helped me read drill when I was a freshman and you showed me that this activity isn’t as intimidating as it seemed. In your own small ways, you showed me that I was capable of catching up to really experienced players and I can’t thank you enough for being so patient with me. You really take the time to think about how the information you are putting out is being received and how it can be reformatted to work for everyone. You have hands down made band more inclusive and we have you to thank for that.
Derek: Thank you for being my first friend in band. Thank you for always encouraging me and reminding me that I have a place in this organization. I can remember when we were walking back from the first dinner and you told me how much this organization meant to you and how fast the time goes by. I really didn’t believe you until now. Thank you for being so good to me and showing me
