Come on boys, let’s get together! As part of the UDMB, seize the opportunity that’s been given to you to truly inspire others through music, and develop yourselves for the better. You’ll always have your brothers, but cherish these years you have in the band with each other, because there is truly no other activity like it.
To Sarv...
Of all your “Sarvisms” over the years my personal favorite was something you highlighted during Mad World, and that was Lee Ann Womack’s “I Hope You Dance”. You centered in on the line, “When you get the choice to sit it out or dance, I hope you dance.” And I’ve never forgotten that, because there have been plenty of times in the UDMB and in college in general where I’ve wanted to give up, or move on, or focus on other things. But I’m reminded that what I do is not necessarily just for me – it is also for the benefit of the people around that have also chosen to dance.
There were a few instances last spring in which you picked up food in Trabant, and instead of heading right to where you needed to go, took maybe a minute or two and sat down with me in some of my moments of high stress. As I said at the top – the little things matter. I want you to know that from my perspective, it was clear that you chose to dance this year. You put your heart and soul into this group, and this ensemble. While our success this year is a testament to the hard work of a lot of people, your passionate leadership is still a huge part of that. I hope you will continue to inspire more people like you’ve inspired me, because it has and will continue to make a tremendous impact on the experiences of future students, even after you step away.
And finally, the entire UDMB...
Thank you. Just thank you. Never forget how special this group is, and cherish the time you have. Leave the place better than you found it.
I do not use social media too much, but take down my phone number, and please stay in touch: (973) 224-8492.

Bri Licciardi ~~
Well, friends, the time has come. Those who know me know that I am the most indecisive person one could possibly be, and my words are scattered unless I take time to reign them in. This time, I’m going to keep this as real as I can and let my thoughts flow naturally because I don’t want to censor/alter my feelings about marching band.
I’ve always known that there would one day be an end to this journey, but I never thought it would happen so fast, nor would it end the way that it did. High school Bri would be so proud of how far I’ve come and how much I accomplished. If I may, I’d like to share a little bit about my band story.
