academic issues, or the death of my grandmothers which I had the support of people I didn’t even know but because they knew I was in the band they made sure I was okay and helped me when I needed advise or tutoring. Now that’s something I wouldn’t get if I wasn’t in the band maybe in another organization, but I have had a big family to support me just like I would support anyone in this band. I learned better self confidence in not only my abilities to play a part or a song or my marching or anything but the confidence that I have when I tell people that I’m in the marching band which I am extremely proud to be a part of. I’ve learned how to take it one step at a time which I was able to apply on and off the field while giving it my all plus some.
In my life I’ve loved them all and I always will..
Jack Malone ~~ Melloware:
(This section has been one of the biggest blessings and I cannot believe it has been 4 years of being a part of this section. I have loved every person to go through Melloware so much and I can’t thank God enough for you all.)
Madi Steinberg: Madi we are the true OG’s. From being the dumb freshman caught up in Mad World to the crazy Survey Sez seniors we are now, it has certainly been a ride. I am so happy to call you one of my best friends and I have truly felt blessed from this friendship. Honestly, you are truly the most dedicated and “on top of it” person I know. Whether it is organizing a banquet for 300+ people, babysitting Claymont Pizza, or dealing with people on the phone, you somehow manage to do it all and do it above and beyond. I truly can’t fathom how talented you are in event planning and being on top of things. I can’t wait to see where that gift takes you and I know we will still be friends for a long time.
Kara Anderson: My favorite Jersey Girl! Kara I am BEYOND happy about how close we’ve gotten this year. From trips to Santa Fe to walks and talks after band camp, we’ve certainly become close this year. I am so happy you decided to switch to mello sophomore because this is truly the section where you belong. You have been such an amazing section leader to work with these past 3 years and we really make a good team. I am so happy to have gone through these past few years of college with you and I know we’ll have many more good memories to come.
Haley Will a.k.a TRIPLE G: MY GRANDMA!!!. It does not feel like it’s only been a year. I honestly can’t fathom how happy I am that you decided to become a mello for your super-duper senior year. Doing pep band with you has been the absolute best thing ever. Whether we’re making fun of Hofstra Connor/Trevor or cheering on our girl Recca (GET WRECKED BY RECCA!!) you are always a blast to be around. Aside from us being dumb together, you are seriously an amazing friend who I cherish and know I can always come to if I have a problem. Love you :)
Scott Benton: Dude. I am so happy you decided to become a mello this year. Aside from carrying the section on the screaming notes, you have helped whip the mellos into shape and have made us such better marchers. It has been so much fun getting to lead the section with you this year and thanks for going along with all of our section shenanigans.
