new things. You are such an amazing person, and I am so excited to see where this life takes you. Here’s to pep band, here’s to REKKAHHHHH! I will always cherish our times in Charleston together, and I can’t wait to go on more adventures and create more memories together! Stay in touch, follow your heart, and trust in yourself—you never give yourself enough credit.
Kara- One of the newer relationships I built, and I am so glad I did. I’ve always known you, but never really got a chance to sit down are really get to know who you are—and I’m so glad we got to this year. You are so caring and funny and truly such a remarkable person. Thank you for always going out of your way to make sure everyone felt included in the section, you are such a ray of sunshine. Can’t wait to do Alumni Band together!!!
Madi- Girl you CRACK ME UP! I never knew you were so damn funny. You always knew how to make me laugh, and I really appreciate all of your efforts that you have done for this band. It takes a lot to be able to balance as much as you do!!! Seriously, you make it look easy!
Scott- From trumpet to Mello, we did it together, and that is something I will always be thankful for... you. You are such a warm person, and I truly admire your work ethic. You are such a strong person Scott, I can’t wait to see where you go in life. Heart, Soul, Sound, and in the future we can both flip coins to see what we will play in Alumni Band together!
Salena- God, we somehow survived Lieberman’s together. I think back to that all the time and I am so thankful I had you to keep me sane. We just would always talk about band together and I am so glad I had you. If we were at work, we talked about band; and if we were at band we talked about work. Thank you for encouraging me to join the Mello section as well, and also helping me with getting through this summer. I wasn’t really myself... I needed a sense of normalcy, and you always knew how to provide that stability for me.
Josh- Welcome back! So glad you ended up changing your mind and came back to band! You always knew how to get the whole section to laugh,! Thank you for helping to keep spirits high, I sincerely appreciated it, and you.
Kat and Ryan- Some of the kindest people I’ve ever met... When my life fell apart last semester, you (Kat) organized everyone in symphonic band to sign that card for me, built it for me, then took me out to lunch with Ryan after that one rehearsal when I came back to campus. I still have that card, and I just want you both to know that you guys are such a light when it felt like my world went dark. I am so sorry I couldn’t find the words then to properly articulate how thankful I am of you both, but I just hope this is a good start. You two mean so much to me. Thank you for picking me up when I didn’t even know if it was possible. You helped me get back on my feet when I felt crippled with grief. Thank you for listening to me when I needed to talk about everything, thank you for laughing at my jokes even if they weren’t funny, and thank you for always being so caring. I grouped you both together, because without you both, there is no way I would have been able to bounce back from everything the way I did after last semester.
Hannah- You are such a gem! You are so welcoming; it is truly refreshing to see such genuine kind people in the world like you. I am so proud of you, studying such a hard field and taking it in stride. Always follow your heart and passion in life sweetie.
Ginger- Wow I finally got to MEET YOU and not just know you as the girl with the elephant tattoo that I love so much! LOL! You are as bright as a sunflower, and I love that about you. Your Smile? Infectious. Your Laugh? Contagious. Your friendship? Priceless.
