Page 21 - 2019 UDMB Senior Will
P. 21

Matt you are one of the most extra people I know. Out of all the seniors, I’m sure you will have the longest Senor Will. I don’t even know where to start with you. While your spatial awareness skills leave a lot to be desired, you have grown......in some ways. All of the late night food we get, always just turns into us staying up late and talking about basically anything. Any reason to get food is a good reason. Even though you will be the forever pledge of our class, you have definitely come a long way since our first semester in college. I somehow run into you all over campus, almost like you have tracking device on me. I know we live together but come on. In any case, it’s been a wild ride. We’ve seen some shit. I will miss seeing Ellen at every home game. I’m pretty sure she sat in the same seat front and center every game. Your determination and commitment to doing well has gotten you far in this band and will get you far in real life. We live together so I will not be seeing the last of you. And yes, Matt I am now and will forever be your Building Governor. K Bye.
Closing Statement:
Thank you to everyone who made my experience in the UDMB one that I will remember forever. This isn’t a goodbye. It is more of a see you later. In my life, I’ve loved them all.

I don’t have an intro to this besides the need to let you all know that I am writing this when I have piles of work I should be doing instead (looking at you finals week!), which, if you know me, is pretty on brand actually. You all know how this works so buckle up, buttercup! Also, I apologize in advance for all the run-on sentences...
To Ari, the love of my life, my forever roomie, my best friend, my sister: I had to put you first, but I wrote this last because I just couldn’t handle it. Almost four years ago, the month that I graduated from my high school, I met a nice Jewish girl from New Jersey in a Facebook group for incoming UD freshmen. She was a medical diagnostics major (still don’t know what that means) and played flute and was planning on joining the marching band. She did not drink or go to parties and was looking for a roommate...so I messaged her. She would’ve made a nice roommate I think...wait - was that you? Who is she!? If freshman year us could see senior year us now...oh boy. So many people I know have freshman year roommate horror stories, but I could never relate because my freshman year roommate turned into my sophomore year roommate and then my junior year roommate and now my senior year + three months roommate and then...I can’t even fathom the thought of not living with you. I don’t think it will even hit me that that’s an eventuality until you’re literally walking out the door of our apartment for the last time. Four years of living together means four years of laughter and mac & cheese and sick days and Netflix shows and breakups and cheesy movies and UDairy and crying and music and drama and just...life. We’ve spent almost four years being around each other 24/7 and we’re about to just quit cold turkey. You will always be my best friend and my sister and the love of my life and my forever roomie. You’ll be there at my wedding someday as my maid of honor and you’ll be delivering my children as my midwife like the amazing nurse you are and you’ll be there at the end of the night after band banquet ends when we all get to cry together one last time. I love you SO much.
To Evan: I’m trying to think of the right way to start this and I just keep coming back to all the late nights and Newsies & Moana viewings and wine and Jimmy John’s and parties and people and
