out for me no matter what. You truly one of the most caring people I have ever met. That being said, I can’t wait to play Spider-Man when I get home. Love you brother.
Pichael Feaster
● Hey how ya doin. I’m really glad we got to know each other and I’m even happier that we get to march together at ID. I know you’re going to do amazing things in this activity and I’m psyched to see wherever you end up. Keep up with UD band no matter what. Regardless of how much experience you have UDrumline will always be a place you can call home and hang out with dozens of people who just love drumming. Keep in touch.
Adam Kenney
● I will punch you in the throat some day. But that punch to throat will be the most caring and tender punch to throat that ever existed. For real, I’m glad that you’ve always been a great sport about dumb jokes and my bullying. Having you on the line at ID made me super excited because I know you just love having fun, drumming, and know when to
stay on task. You’re gonna do great things and definitely keep in touch brother.
Michael Windish
Hey Mike! Just wanted to say thanks for letting me on the line. Just kidding. Thank you
for being the best goddamn mentor I could ever ask for. Whether or not you realize it, you’ve been an extremely positive impact on my life, and a “big” part of that is your philosophy towards drumming. You’ve said it yourself that most of what you teach isn’t necessarily drumming, but rather, mentality. You’re really great at explaining things in a way that makes sense to anyone, regardless of drumming experience. One of my biggest takeaways of this year was you helping the entire snare line get out of our heads about college band. We were all getting pretty frustrated since the Bush guys weren’t here, and you noticed and said something to us. While
you wanted us to hold ourselves to a standard (whatever that may be), you told us that we shouldn’t really give a fuck about band. While struggling with a good amount of insecurities and anxieties in my life, you’ve helped me really mold my mentality mainly in regards to hardwork and not giving a fuck about what people think about me.
There were a few rough points throughout my time here. I’ll always remember being
terrified throughout all of the camps and the audition going into Freshman year. I’ll always remember you making me grind out a measure I couldn’t get in front of the entire snareline Freshman year. And I’ll always remember wanting to quit a few days into band camp Freshman year. But I’m sure as hell glad I didn’t. Having you and (mostly) everyone who’s been a part of this snare line has helped me grow such a large support group and even larger group of friends. And even though I haven’t really marched anywhere, you’ve helped me in gaining so much confidence as a drummer and as a person. I’m marching my age-out ID and I couldn’t be happier. I’m sure I have a million other things to say, but I just wanted to say thanks for an amazing 4 years. You’ve taught me so much and always reminded me that doing UDrumline is one of (M)y (B)est (D)ecisions.
Lastly,
Thank you to everyone I’ve had the pleasure of marching and working with in the
drumline. You’ve all changed my life in so many ways and pretty much defined my college experience. I’m really blessed to have met so many of my best friends through one organization and I hope you all keep doing band.
