Want to know precisely how much rain and snow has fallen at
the SUNY ESF Huntington Wildlife Forest? A new automated system is
online as of October 16: https://
             nadp.slh.wisc.edu/siteOps/ppt/

NY20 is the Site ID; choose the date range
to plot recent precipitation, temperature and
other variables. ESF research technician LJ Mills
maintains all of the equipment and meteoro-

logical data collected on site (see photo).

quite acidic at 4.4 pH units; today pH has improved to over 5.2 as a
result of the national Clean Air Amendments of 1990.

ESF belongs to the National Atmospheric Deposition Program which
has included environmental monitoring since 1978. NYSERDA funds

                                  this program.
