Make Mother ‘Righteous’
We call our earth, ‘Mother Earth’ and treat her just like that. We use her in our
need as well as for our greed. She is there without any demand for payback. Isn’t
it just like mother? We need fresh air to breathe, fresh food to eat, fresh water to
drink. It is our need. We use petroleum, coal and other precious metals from her
womb. We make deforestation to build industries, parks and malls. We damage
her ozone layer by CFC. Is this not our greed? Our mother needs care, as she gets
hurt too.
We pollute her by evacuating human waste into natural water resources.
We organize ‘Firefly Festival’ for our enjoyment. Visitors to such festivals throw
plastic bottle and other garbage irresponsibly. Plastic has been found in stomach
of animals. We use high frequency radiations. Migrating birds are losing their
destinations due to this radiation and climate change. We don’t care for our
future. We even endanger other living species by disturbing their natural habitat.
Mother Earth won’t accept this. Her turbulence can be seen in form of floods,
droughts and hurricanes. We invest lot of money to organize social events. Why
don’t we take responsibility of waste management? We are moving our waste
wherever we are shifting. Now it is beyond the earth too. Earth is the only known
living planet in universe. In future, if some other more intelligent species arrive,
they will abandon us just like our waste.
Nurture some plants in open space. Switch off the light and fans when not
in use. Close and repair leaking water taps. Use AC at temperature above 27
degree with fan. Sort garbage into reuse and recyclable waste. Use staircase than
lift for short distances. These are very simple steps that need to be followed to
return her glory back.
Let’s make our mother once again ‘righteous’. Spread Green, Save Blue.
