INTRODUCTION
Welcome to the Winter edition of allcare Connect
It goes without saying that COVID-19 has dominated the media and community landscape for much of the past four months.
Yes, it is true that the COVID-19 situation continues to evolve, and presents a significant global challenge. Yes, it is true that the World Health Organization has declared the COVID-19 outbreak a pandemic, with many governments around the world taking stricter and more impactful measures to ensure the safety of their citizens. Understandably, there is a great sense of unease everywhere. It is also true, however, that there will be a life after COVID-19.
I will be forever grateful for the tenacity, resilience and unwavering commitment that the whole allcare community has demonstrated throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. The crisis has brought unspeakable grief to many, but in my view it has also brought out the very best of what it means to be an Australian.
With that in mind, I would like to share three positive updates with you:

Since we last connected with you all via allcare Connect,
Ms. Jennifer Christie has joined our team as a Client Engagement Manager. In fact, many of you will already have interacted
with Jennifer by the time this newsletter reaches you. Jennifer joins us from Warrigal Care, and brings with her a wealth of experience and capability. We are very lucky to have her, and you can read more about her in this edition of allcare Connect!
allcare recently lodged our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) with Reconciliation Australia, outlining our commitment to do our part to help bring about Indigenous Reconciliation. This plan outlines the steps that we have committed to take, as
a company, and the internal targets that we have set. I look forward to reporting on the progress of this plan over the next twelve months.
Aged Care Employee Day,
held on August 7, was an opportunity to acknowledge and thank each and every one of the sixty-four team members at allcare for their compassion, kindness and generosity they show to our clients each and every day. We salute and celebrate the amazing work our team does, we regard them with the highest respect and are deeply grateful for the work they do every single day.
At allcare we believe that mental health is inextricably linked to physical health. Whilst it is easy to get distracted by the negative in the world, it is critically important to be mindful of the good that exists in the world; it helps to provide perspective. In this edition of allcare Connect, I worked with Beyond Blue to write an article on building resilience, which I hope some of you find useful.
We are still here. We continue to work hard every single day of the week to provide high quality care services. We will not be distracted, and we are not going anywhere.
