Sufferings that emerge are the savor
of the natural conditions that impact us—the feelings of discomfort, agitation. These natural conditions are a cause
and a condition for the emergence
of upadana—attachments, the sense of self. Some people rely on just one dhamma principle, and are able to lead successful lives;
able to attain happiness.
That dhamma principle is khanti: Having resilience; having forbearance; having dhamma as the supreme scorcher of defilements.
