Tulip
By Lily Rose*
Once upon a time, there was a girl. She had been sick since she was a
child and had spent most of her life in the hospital. One day, she received a
letter. It said, "I will pick you up at 11 pm today. She did not have any friends, so
she had no idea who sent the letter or who was coming to pick her up. She
was a little creeped out by the letter but gradually forgot about it. Then, at
11:00 pm, the time is written in the letter, she suddenly woke up and looked
around in total darkness. Then she heard footsteps coming from somewhere,
and when she looked towards the footsteps, she saw a short older man with
gray hair.
The old man said to her, "At 11:00 pm today, you died. This is the resting
place on the border between heaven and hell. You have done no wrong in
your life and have finished. You were a good person. Therefore, according to
Article 32 of the Constitution of Heaven, you have the right to choose. You can
choose to stay in heaven or be reborn and live in the human world again."
She was confused by the sudden turn of events but eventually regained
her composure and said to her grandfather. "I am not a good person; I am
only too sick to do evil, and I have often been envious and jealous of others. I
have no right to choose, so you should decide."
The older man was surprised by her statement because he had never
met anyone like her before. He turned to her and said, "All right. It would be a
shame to erase your innocent honesty and sincerity. Therefore, I will let you
become a flower and live in the human world again."
And so she was reborn as a tulip. That is how the tulip was born into the
world. As you know the language of the tulip is "honesty and sincerity." [335
