Joan Cheryl Layton Severini

Born February 02, 1947 in Long Branch in a snowstorm. Attended most of my grammar
school years in the North Long Branch Grammar School. Graduated LBHS and married
my wonderful husband, Sal, in 1967.

We met when both of us worked for the Monmouth Consolidated Water Company. We
promptly had twin boys and added another two daughters in the next 17 months. We have
lived in the same house in Eatontown for almost 45 years. We raised our family here and
saw them through three college educations and a Nursing School. We have gained an
Electronic Engineer, a Comptroller for a large insurance Company, a President of an
Optical Equipment Company and an exceptionally gifted Registered Nurse.

I also attained my RN and graduated Nursing School in 1994 with my youngest daughter.
Sal and I are now both retired and are the proud grandparents of 5 boys and 3 girls: ages
11 to 17.

I enjoy genealogy and have found I share a set of grandparents with President Lincoln. I
am a member of the DAR and also like to sew and dabble in photography.

We enjoy a large vegetable garden and flowers in the late spring to early fall, entertain
over-night grandkids during summer at "Grammy Camp" and keep our Cock-a-poo
happy with walks. Big "Stay-at-Homers", we enjoy just goofing around and relaxing
locally.
